About Peepoo
Peepoople AB, a private for-profit organization, was set up in the year 2006 in Stockholm , Sweden. The company was the brainchild of Professor Andres Wilhelson, a renowned Swedish architect at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm. Prof. Wilhelson along with Camilla Wirseen came up with the idea of the Peepoobag. They together with Dr. Annika Nordin, Dr. Björn Vinnerås , Prof. Mikael Hedengvist , and Peter Thuvander were the founding members of Peepoople AB. The research on the Peepoo bag was conducted in cooperation with SLU Swedish University of Agricultural Science and KTH Royal Institute of Technology ....

Peepoo In Kenya

The distribution, collection, and reuse models could be varied depending on local conditions. ...

The fact that they had to pay to relieve themselves when they could do it out in the open at no cost led to the ridicule. Hence, the Peepoople volunteers convinced a few women of each locality about the benefits of using the bag and trained them on how to use it. These women in turn spread the message of the benefits of the Peepoo bag. Gradually people started to adopt the product. ..

Peepoo Expansion Into South Asia
According to World Health Organization, in 2012, India alone had over 626 million people who defecated in the open. That accounted for almost 60% of the 1.1 billion who defecated in the open throughout the world. According to Prof. Eric Odada, Member of United Nations Secretary General’s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation, open defecation was the single largest problem faced by the world...
